hippos Vs. Cheetahs charles ayittey

Very gracious, and begins right of explaining. Cheetah generation, quick far sighted, democratic africans that want to help-take no corruption, and Africa's salvation rest on them.  and then there are hippos, greedy, complaining, ruling class.
----corrupion cost them billions!
Africa is rich but that wealth is not distributed amongst people. It makes people mad, but there are so many people that want to help africa but the people of africa dont understand.
---- Its a sad story when people don't understand help, "taking it the wrong way", and it's sad when help is needed and wanted, but rejected due to ignorance. That is where we need to start, on the ignorance.
Much of Africas mistakes lie in the leadership.
Asked his internet forum to name 20 good leaders out of 204. They couldn't.
it allows an insight into the fact that people have been so turned off to leadership, they no longer invest in it.
Bandits, crooks, and thives lead in africa and rake money off the backs of the people another example of the ignorance of the african people. They don't need medical and monetary help. They need to understand.
Speaker VERY passionate. moving and also humorous. Gets his point across well and clearly even though he is hard to understand
Speaks of the ignoring of the informal and the people, traditionally, Africans hate governments, and that is exactly what they have. and that is why they are falling apart.
-- African operate best and by choice, under themselves as a community, and that is the opposite of what they have.
--We need to go back to the traditional Africa to find the real africa.
--------Good passionate talk, i was moved by his power and by his conviction in what he was speaking about.

Dave Eggers

Looks very nervous.  And relizes how nervous he actually is. Has no clear point right away. Very quick talking ahrd to follow and mumbles. Starts out shakey.
----Talks about how some students need 1 on 1 attention and don't recive.
He relizes how poorly he is speaking but does not slow down.
Good natured audiance however and laughs at his slight flustering.
----Takes is building attached to tutoring school.
----Awesome building for students who need help on english, but needed to sell something, so as a joke they sold pirate supplies to make a "store" that added a comfortable feel.
Store offers 1 on 1 attention that children need, also from real professional writers or publishers, there was no stigma, no "extra help" thing, so gifted children could come get help too.
1400 volenteers! He certainly is passionate about this, he loves that this is happening, and obviously wants it to spread.
----Very cool idea and it seems to work well.
----they are in many many schools, and seem tho be having a serious effect on childrens school performance, and seem to be almost exciting children in these schools about writing and reading.
----Their store works because of the tutoring and then more people became invested int he tutoring because of the store.
Talks passionatly if nervously and confusingly.
Stores popping up all over the USA.
Overall, not the best talk but an Awesome Idea and movement, However on a deeper level, there is not much. However, these stores are having an unexpected effect on the communities they are in. Families that would never have become invested in education are, kids who hate school now excel at it. He made a joke about homework making a happier community, but in reality, the fact that these kids are investing more than just their time in their education is creating a educated and potentially happy community.
